Tata group’s e-commerce platform Tata CLiQ has roped in Twinkle Khanna and Karan Johar for its summer ad campaign. The duo can be seen engaging in a wordplay whilst spreading awareness about the trending venture.

Encapsulated and envisaged by Mullen Lintas Mumbai, it intends to establish the e-commerce platform in today’s competitive market through the far-reaching media channels like television, digital and social media.

“By leveraging the topicality of summer, the strategy is to build an umbrella idea to help deliver relatable and relevant narratives while driving awareness for TATA CLiQ,” Mullen Lintas said.

The campaign’s tone is set out to make an impact on the target audience with its witty comebacks that underline most of the conversations between friends, also promoting the ‘Upgrade’ trend with Tata CLiQ.

Launched in 2016, Tata CLiQ is owned by Tata Unistore, a business venture of the Tata Group. They started off by selling electronics, apparels and footwear which also included many of Tata’s in-house brands like Westsides’ clothing range, electronic brands like Whirlpool, Voltas, LG etc. Only, Forever 21, Aldo, Reebok and Puma are some more brands showcased on site.

The campaign is built around a relatable narrative and has a hyperreal sitcom vibe to it. The Bollywood duo, cherished for their unique and spirited disposition in the industry, are sure to appeal to the masses, adding excitement to the ad campaign.

The summer campaign has adopted a 15 seconds format keeping the content crisp, short and entertaining which will definitely keep the audience amused and engaged. The real-life chemistry of the two friends is the enriching element in the ad blitz.

Users will find themselves picking out from the top trends, inundated with a lot of variety in all the categories. The brand is offering high quality products and great deals for their consumers with an option of returning the non-electronic items within 30 days, watches within 15 days, electronics and appliances within 7 days.

The payment options include net banking, credit or debit cards, cash on delivery (if applicable) and the consumers can also use EMI options if available.

Will Karan and Twinkle inspire the audience to ‘upgrade’ their styles? Stay tuned to find out.
