India’s luxury market has been growing at a decent rate over the last decade, on the back of rapidly growing urban middle class. The country has been offering the most unrivaled demographic dividend and a number of young adults have been benefiting by entering the job market. Many luxury brands have been making an impact by studying the market closely. A newly launched lifestyle and advisory cell MAISON India has been playing a vital role by sharing the magic of these brands with the masses.

A brainchild of Gaurav Bhatia, MAISON India equips its clients with innovative marketing solutions, business development ideas, branding and rebranding solutions, communication and content creation along with PR and digital strategy.

Gaurav Bhatia’s tryst with the luxury industry dates back to the beginning of 21st century, when he started his career at Young & Rubicam as an adman. He managed a host of brands with top blue chip clients in the industry.

In 2007, Bhatia was appointed as the Marketing Director of Moët Hennessy, part of the luxury conglomerate LVMH. He played a major role in expanding the presence of the company across the Indian subcontinent. However, he soon changed the course of his journey to shepherd the world’s oldest auction house Sotheby’s, as the managing director of its Indian arm.

Striving to open the doors of Sotheby’s into the thriving art scene in India, Gaurav Bhatia led the company to make its debut auction “Boundless: India” in Mumbai. The inaugural sale featured 60 artworks with a total sale of INR 554 million.

Having spent more than 20 years in the luxury and art industry, Gaurav Bhatia came up with the idea of conceiving his own lifestyle and luxury advisory cell. With the inception of MAISON India, he focused on long-term vision that builds on the legacy of brands, encouraging creativity and business excellence.

The firm aims at creating disruptive ideas and solutions. It also aims at managing and strengthening the customer relationships of brands, wiping away the marketing drivels that brands tend to get caught up in.

The future of the luxury industry looks bright in India, making the role of advisory cells like MAISON India all the more important. Led by a dynamic leader like Gaurav Bhatia Sotheby’s Ex-MD, the firm is well on course to make a difference in the most vibrant industry in the coming years.
