Indian e-commerce Company Snapdeal based in New Delhi opens 15 new Warehouses at enterprise zones situated across ten metro cities. The new centres are located inside factory clusters of Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur, Indore, Hyderabad, Panipat, Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi.

In 2010, Established by Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, Snapdeal believes in bypassing the traditional structure of selling through wholesalers and retailers. These new centres aim to cater the growing shipment volumes from manufacturers who opt to sell directly on Snapdeal. India’s own e-commerce firm is also offering doorstep pick-ups from the factories through their deep presence inside these warehouses. The new centres aim to make the fulfilment process simpler for sellers so that they can dedicate all their resources towards production. In current year, Snapdeal is planning to add around 5000 manufacturer-sellers on its platform. More than 500 diverse categories of items are offered on this platform ranging from steel & copper utensils, kitchen gadgets like juicers to fashion accessories like watches.

Indian e-commerce market is growing rapidly beyond the first 100 million urban users. A potential market of 400 million new users is emerging across India. This has caught the attention of numerous manufacturers who specialize in the value-priced segment.

The new warehousing centres are ensuring the fast movement of shipments, dedicated care for manufacturing units like packaging and online order tracking. The massive growth of the online market, especially in the non-metro centres allows manufacturers to reach new set of connected customers.

To support protection of intellectual property on online marketplace Snapdeal has also joined International Trademark Association (INTA) last year.
