Nykaa or Purplle – What is your secret choice for all the makeup and beauty needs?

Published

on

Having that perfect makeup kit for all your beauty needs has become a necessity. Being able to enhance your confidence with those beauteous looks allows you to indulge in hygienic makeup routines and skincare essentials. The makeup industry has taken over the world with its storming social media presence, the convenience of getting the required products at the doorstep, and easy payment methods. These days, the online sale of makeup products is a common aspect and there are many companies who already have or are still in the run to establish their foot in this marketing field.

Two such popular online beauty sites are Nykaa.com and Purplle.com, established in 2012 and 2011 respectively giving a tough competition to each other. Both the companies have emerged as the top players in the market catering to the beauty and healthcare demands of the people, offering them the best quality products at the most reasonable prices.

Nykaa vs Purplle

Both the companies have tie-ups with many trusted brands like Lakme, L’Oreal, Mac, etc., and Ayurveda brands like Kama Ayurveda and Biotique that offer a wide range of products starting from skincare, beauty, haircare to healthcare. Purplle and Nykaa fill each other’s empty spaces in terms of brand availability, as there are many brands that have a presence on Nykaa but not on purple and vice versa. Both also have their own individual product line, but Nykaa being internationally known, offers much more product variants than Purplle.

Both the websites offer a user-friendly interface, wherein the customers can filter their searches by selecting the category, brand names, price bar, discount, relevance, etc., for a faster and appropriate result. The makeup tutorials by Nykaa and Purplle are a great way to teach beginners the art of applying makeup and building good customer interaction. One unique aspect offered by Purplle is the beauty assistant feature – a virtual assistant that helps customers to choose products based on a few questionnaires.

When it comes to payment, both Nykaa and Purplle offer safe and secure varieties of payment modes for users’ convenience, ranging from cash on delivery (COD) to debit and credit cards, net banking, e-wallets, and much more. Discounts offered by Nykaa are much more usable and friendly than those given by Purplle. Nykaa focuses on giving ‘buy one get one or ’50 percent off’ offers while Purplle gives free movie ticket type offers on its product categories.

Although both the companies already hold a good presence in the market and are on their way to expanding more, selecting the best can only be evaluated on the basis of popular choice and revenue statistics. As per a survey, Nykaa has more followers, and its other add-ons like a clothing line, Nykaa man, etc., have allowed it to make a greater social media presence, hence extracting higher revenues than Purplle.
