World’s most economical electric car to hit Indian markets in February 2020

China’s largest SUV maker, The Great Wall Motors, is coming to India with its Haval and ORA brands at Auto Expo 2020.

With the Indian automobile industry and government both moving towards e-vehicles aggressively, this decision of The Great Wall Motors meets the demand of both the consumers and the policymakers. The Great Wall Motors (GWM) will showcase both of its brands; namely Haval and ORA, at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020.

GWM currently owns four brands which include Haval, Wey, Ora, and Great Wall Pickup. The company based out of Baoding Hebei, just about 150 km south of Beijing, is now eyeing a suitable location to set up a manufacturing plant in India. The recent report suggests that GWM is likely to acquire General Motors’ manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.

Some Interesting Features of Ore R1 Electric Car:

Ora R1 electric car gives a maximum mileage of 351 km through its 35 kilowatt motor on a single charge. Great Wall Motors sells three EVs under the brand.

The car will come equipped with an artificial intelligence feature along with a connectivity feature. The owner can wake up the car by saying, “Hello, Ora”. The speed of the car will be around 100 kmph, where servicing would be limited to three years or 1.2 lakh kilometers.

Alongside this, the car manufacturer has also kept the prices reasonable for the models. As per the information available, the expected price of the car in India will be at $8,680 to $11,293 which translates to Rs 6.23 lakh to 8 lakh.

GWM would showcase Haval H6, to compete in the Indian SUV segment.
