This move comes after the remarkable success of Wholsum Foods’ first brand, Slurrp Farm, which achieved a turnover of 100 crores in FY2023.

Their product line-up includes breakfast cereals, pancakes, cake mixes, and gluten-free alternatives to rice and wheat, providing a wide range of daily foods and snacks.

One of the key factors contributing to Millé’s success is its strategic combination of millets with lentils and legumes, creating a unique blend of plant protein. Anushka Sharma, the brand ambassador, and investor of Wholsum Foods have advocated for healthy living and sustainable eating. 2023: International Year of Millets

Millé’s launch this year aligns perfectly with the United Nations’ declaration of 2023 being the International Year of Millets.‘ As a millet based food start-up, Millé actively promotes the consumption of super grains, which are nutrient-rich and environmentally friendly. With minimal water requirements and cultivation free from fertilizers and pesticides, millets are climate-smart grains with immense potential in contemporary food culture. Millé collaborates closely with renowned chefs, nutritionists, and farmers to reintroduce millet as the ‘mother of all grains’ into the mainstream.

Shauravi Malik and Meghana Narayan, co-founders of Wholsum Foods, express their enthusiasm for Millé’s unique offerings. They emphasize that Millé’s range of products, including buckwheat millet breakfast cereal, pancake mixes, cake and brownie mixes, and rice replacements, are developed with a focus on sustainability, traditional knowledge, and ease of preparation.

Slurrp Farm and Millé

As Wholsum Foods’ parent company, Millé joins Slurrp Farm in the mission to revolutionize health foods. Slurrp Farm, founded in 2016, provides healthy and natural snack and mealtime options for children and their parents.

When asked about the need for a separate brand, Meghana Narayan said, “Both brands do millet pancakes, Millé ones have higher plant nutrition to tackle India’s protein deficiency levels and children don’t need to fix that. Hence Millé was launched as an adult millet-based food start-up in India.”

The breakfast flakes have 17-21 grams of protein value, making them a low-carb alternative for the diabetic or diabetes-prone population of India. The first phase would be online on e-commerce retailers like Amazon and some select stores in metro cities like Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Meghana said Millé aims to be placed on grocery shelves throughout India within a few months as 90% of their product sales are offline based for Slurrp Farm.

With Millé targeting adult consumers, Wholsum Foods demonstrates its commitment to offering nutritious options for individuals of all ages.
