Each year World Health Day is celebrated on the 7th of April. It is to mark the anniversary of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) establishment in 1948.  World Health Day brings public attention to a particular health issue with this annual celebration. This year’s theme chosen by WHO is “Our Planet, Our Health”. We take a look at various creative strategies and campaigns by different brands to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Colgate Palmolive

On World Health Day, Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited has brought in cricketer R. Ashwin to raise awareness about their diabetic oral care product. The campaign seeks to raise awareness about how gum infections hinder diabetes management and why diabetic patients need Colgate toothpaste for their oral health. The brand has launched a toothpaste for diabetic patients and focused on the point that when compared to the non-diabetic population, diabetics are three times more prone to have gum infections.

Plix

Plant-based health products brand, Plix, has launched a new campaign called #SwapYourFizz. The campaign seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of soda use and provide customers with a healthier alternative to traditional soft drinks. The brand has revealed a line of healthy drinks that are free of dangerous artificial flavours, sugars and other additives through a series of articles, videos, and vox pop. It’s encouraging folks to #SwapYourFizz for these healthier options.

Sahara India Parivar

Sahara India Parivaar launched a campaign emphasizing this year’s theme “Our Planet, Our Health”. The social media campaign is aimed at generating awareness about the fact that to have good health we need to have a healthy planet. The goal is to focus on #healthyplanethealthyme concept in alignment with this year’s theme

Springfit Mattress

Springfit Mattress has launched a new advertising campaign called “Springfit – Your Bedtime Story.” Its goal is to use sleep technologies to help people understand the necessity of getting better sleep. The sleep rejuvenation program is designed for those who live a fast-paced lifestyle that leads to exhaustion and an irregular sleep cycle. As a part of the campaign, people will be asked to share their sleep tales and how they are dealing with issues such as sleep disorders and depression.

BIG FM

BIG FM, in collaboration with WATConsult, an Isobar subsidiary and India’s globally renowned hybrid digital agency, has released an exclusive #DhunWorkout playlist on Gaana, the music streaming app. The songs in the new playlist aim to promote general awareness about lung health through effective breathing practices. The exercises in this project are not just standard ‘breathe in and breathe out’ procedures used in the health and fitness industry, but they also have a fun and exciting touch to them.
