The direct-to-home dairy startup, Country Delight raised $25 billion in Series C investment, led by Elevation Capital (formerly SAIF Partners) and various schemes managed by IIFL AMC. Other existing investors like Matrix Partners India and Orios Venture Partners also contributed to boost-up the funding. Country Delight was launched in 2015 with an aim to bring back the taste of fresh milk. It sources its products directly from farms within a radius of 150-200 km and caters to nearly 1.5 lakh households across six states in India, spanning mainly from West India and some in North India. It delivers “fresh and minimally processed” dairy essentials to consumers’ doorstep. The team believes to tie-up with farms having better hygiene practices and frequent technology usage for good quality of milk.
Nitin Kaushal and Chakradhar Gade, the co-founders of Country Delight were keen to help people with a hands-on availability of natural and fresh milk at their doorstep. The hard work behind the execution of this thought led to the launch of Country Delight, with buffalo and cow milk as their only product and a gradual expansion to eggs, desi ghee, fresh paneer, soft bread, and dahi. The company strives to maintain its ethos and freshness while having the products delivered successfully within 24-36 hours from collection.
The new capital funding will be used by Country Delight to expand its product category from dairy to other food essentials like fruits and vegetables, pulses, jams, cold-pressed edible oils, wheat, pickles, batters, and spices to avail its customers with fresh, unadulterated, and natural food supplements.
